First, it begins with annoying ad instead of going straight to broadcast. Stops all the time, then begins with annoying ad again! WBUR doesn't have an ad at beginning, nor does it stop all the time. Please fix this ap. It's really frustrating.
Constant interruptions: of 1) signal, 2) by corporate commercials, 3) by the narcisstic JIM BRAUDY . I now listen to WBUR, another Boston local NPR. 2/12/22. Wanted to give GBH another try..now in addition to the constantly interrupted forecast, GBH is obsessed by race, constantly ending stories with "affecting disproportionately people of color". In a segment about US sleep deprivation, they could nor resist concluding that, of course, the issue was " affecting disproportionately ....color".
The app now simply stops playback after a second or two upon connecting a Bluetooth speaker, and has never responded to normal controls, so you can't restart playback.
Frustrating experience using this app. I'm a supporter and regular listener to GBH but the performance of this app is so poor that I'm gravitating to other stations. The app regularly stops without explanation. It doesn't matter what network I'm on or time of day - I start it, it plays for 5 or 10 minutes, then stops. I restart and it stops again in another 5 or 10 minutes. I use other apps on my Android, including other public radio stations, and don't see this pattern. Thumbs down.
Really like listening to Boston Public Radio (and WGBH in general) when I catch it airing but unlike the WBUR app, seem to encounter nothing but problems with this app. To begin with, it shuts down when my screen goes to sleep or I turn the screen off myself. Also, again unlike On Point (WBUR), no luck accessing recent episodes thru Tune-In.'
