T1-Dexi play online

The purpose of the T1-Dexi app is to log food and exercise data in people with type 1 diabetes for scientific research purposes. The app is only designed to be used by people who have signed up for a clinical study that is being run by the Jaeb Center for Health Research. To use the app, you must have a login and password that has been assigned to you by the Jaeb Center for Health Research. This app is designed to be used by people with type 1 diabetes to estimate and log their food intake and exercise. Users of the app can log specific information about a meal including carbohydrates, proteins fats, and total meal size. Users can also take photos of their meals which are then stored with the meal entries. User can also log when they do specific types of exercise and indicate the type of exercise that was done, the duration, and the intensity. Daily reminders are sent to the user to help them remember to log their food on the days that they do scheduled exercise and to log daily health status information including physical activity, illness, and sleep metrics. The high level features of the app shall include the following:
\tUser shall be capable of hand entering the amounts of carbohydrates consumed during a meal using T1-DEXI
\tUser shall be able to use T1-Dexi to take a photograph of their meal both before they eat their meal. The photos shall be stored locally on the phone and automatically transferred to a cloud server.
\tUser shall be able to use T1-Dexi to enter activity data including (1) exercise type, (2) exercise intensity, and (3) exercise duration.
\tUser shall be able to enter the macronutrient components of their meal (carbohydrate, fats, proteins)
\tUser shall be able to enter a text description of their meal.
\tUser shall be able to enter insulin delivered along with their meal
\tUser shall be able to enter basal insulin from the main screen of the app.
\tT1-Dexi shall send periodic reminders to the subject to record their meals using T1-Dexi
\tData shall be transmitted to a cloud server
\tT1-Dexi shall record location every 15 minutes
\tT1Dexi shall enable the user to email all study results at the end of a study in the event that data has not been sent appropriately to the server during the study.


Background Location Data Usage:

By consenting to be in this study, you have agreed that the app that you are using will collect location data. After installation of this app, you will be asked to allow location data collection for the T1-DEXI app as part of the study. The study team will show you how to do this for your phone. If you do not want to share your location data with the study team then you should not agree to be in the study. The location data will be compared to the activity and food data that you enter through the app to see if location alone can predict changes in blood sugar. The location data will also help us to check that the times are correct for the other study devices that you will use.
