The Book of Ezra describes how Ezra led a group of Judean exiles living in Babylon to their home city of Jerusalem.

Nehemiah is the central figure of the Book of Nehemiah, which describes his work in rebuilding Jerusalem during the Second Temple period.

Esther relates the story of a Hebrew woman in Persia, born as Hadassah but known as Esther, who becomes queen of Persia and thwarts a genocide of her Jewish people.

The Book of Job addresses the problem of the vindication of the justice of God in the light of humanity's suffering.

Psalms is an anthology of 150 individual songs, many of which are composed by King David. They make up the core prayers of Jews and Christians.
