A navigation guide for passionate boaters to discover the longest river in Italy, its landscapes, its flavors and its local culture, crossing the Biosphere Reserves from the Ticino to the Po Grande up to the Po Delta. A useful tool for those who approaches the river Po for the first time, to learn to know it and navigate it safely, but also for the more experienced, to discover new routes and help us improve the app by sending useful reports.
This project wants to be a support on which to work with the aim of paying ever greater attention to the river Po, to improve and implement a sustainable use of the river and a reception service that can accommodate all passionate boaters, respecting the environment and regulations in force. The Portolano del Po, was born in the context of the MAB UNESCO Po Grande Reserve and from the collaboration between the Po River District Basin Authority (AdBPo) and the Interregional Agency for the Po River (AIPO), with the precious contribution of Bruno Censi with the Association Motonautica di Venezia and the fundamental technical and graphic support of ARTernative srl.
What this navigation guide contains: information on the tourist docks available, where they are and how to approach them, on the services offered in each berth (slipways, refueling, drinking water, toilets, parking and more) as well as some notes on points of interest, the natural areas crossed along the Po, the nearest restaurants and hotels. Each berth provides information on how to reach the next one and, through the application, it will be possible to follow the route of the navigable waterway safely, while always paying attention to the signs present. Remember: The commander of the ship is exclusively responsible for the direction of the maneuver and navigation! In the application you can also find useful references to the navigation regulations and to the main signs encountered while crossing the Po.
For the expert navigators of the Po it will also be possible, through the application, to report on critical issues or points of interest along the route, in order to help improve and implement the app, as well as create a direct dialogue between users and competent bodies. . All that remains is to throw yourself into the adventure of the Great River and discover new horizons!
