Some disassembly if the generator is required for installation. The control requires a simple 8 wire connection to interface to the generator. After installation, the existing generator controls continue to function.

Unlike most remotes for the Honda 3000, this control will operate the economy feature saving fuel. When you shutdown the generator, the economy mode is automatically turned off allowing for the engine to re-start.
