DESCRIPTION
Use UptoPlay to play online the game WAM Swell Adriatic Widget.
Application is primarily developed to play 5 days significant wave height forecast for Adriatic Sea in a form of a widget. Additionally, also simple usual app was developed where you can control speed of the animation.
Adding widget to the home screen differs in accordance with mobile phone model or Android OS version. Nevertheless, procedure is usually following:
(1) long press to the home screen
(2) choose to add a widget
(3) from the list of widgets select and drag WAM Swell Adriatic Widget to the home screen
(4) configure the widget and add it to the home screen.
Forecast animation in the app is update daily, mostly around 6:00 AM UTC.
Simple usual application contains ads in the bottom menu bar. Ads can be removed with the in-app purchase.
Source of the 5 days significant wave height forecast is Atmospheric Modeling and Weather Forecasting Group (AM&WFG) of the Department of Physics of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

One of the research activities of the group is related to wave modelling, which is implemented with modelling product WAM system. It is a state of the art wave analysis and prediction model with some unique capabilities. WAM modelling results are various wave characteristics (wave heights, period, energy) and are calculated daily. Results are presented as images with defined color scale. Images are updated every day usually around 5:30 AM UTC on their website. Nevertheless, animation is updated around 6:00 AM UTC in the application.
