E-Campus Learning play online

To ensure all students can learn remotely, our school has adopted the Online Teaching
Alternative (OTA) program to reach more students, wherever they are, during the closure of
traditional in-person classroom learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Since not all students
have access to internet service, or a good network connection, St. Ignatius High School & Adult
Education Division has teamed-up with Alternative Networks Limited to provide students with a
low-cost online education program via the E-Campus App.
The goal of the Online Teaching Alternative E-Campus App is to improve access for students by
developing and distributing visual media educational programs during and beyond the COVID-
19 pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a sudden shift from in-person classroom
sessions, to online or homebased sessions. The effect of social distancing limitations has forced
us to evaluate and restructure teaching and learning for our students, particularly in instances
where our students may face problems with accessibility to internet and technology. The
obstacle of access, caused by inadequate infrastructure or lack of financial resources is virtually
eliminated by the use of the E-Campus App.
Through the Online Teaching Alternative, we could deliver a well-designed sequence on primary
topics accessible by teachers and students at the press of a button. The video recorded lessons
and live sessions will also be used for:
Video pre-recorded lessons for homebased students
Students in online sessions
Video archives to reinforce future lessons
Teachers to self-assess on teaching activities and design more student-friendly materials
Increase participation and virtual creativity of students
It fosters proper accountability and monitoring of student progress.
E-Campus App provides an ample number of resources and opportunities for learning. In the
Online Teaching Alternative structure, the teacher directs the learning activities as if students are
present in the classroom. She/he provides visual aids, demonstrations, questions and answers,
and other interactive methods modelled through the E-Campus App. Using digital recordings
with a playback feature, which can be accessed with the use of a smart phone, tablet or laptop,
grants students the accessibility that is relevant and necessary at this time.
